Now, I’m not going to claim all the credit here, but I did co-write an article back in October titled Twitter Is Mission Critical which called for precisely this decision. I’d like to think that helped nudge things along at least a little. Even though it probably didn't. But hey, a guy can dream, right?
Actually, the Pentagon did a 7 month study of the issue, and supposedly THAT’s what convinced them to make the change. Whatever the reason, I’m happy to see a more open and thoughtful approach to one of the most important & exciting segments of the IT world.

The defense community has get the chance to joint the social community apparently. As far as time is concern these type of decisions may get time.
